Why these four fragrances. Why soy wax. Why it works.
LAVENDER
What it does: Linalool, lavender's primary compound, modulates GABA-A receptors the same neurological pathway targeted by anti-anxiety medication. Without the sedation. Without the dependency.
The research: A 2018 study in Frontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience confirmed inhaled linalool reduces anxiety through GABA-A modulation. A 2012 study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine showed statistically significant cortisol reduction after 30 minutes of lavender exposure. Research in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology demonstrated increased heart rate variability a direct marker of nervous system recovery
What this means for you: When you light Warm Caress in the evening, your cortisol drops measurably. Your nervous system shifts from stress mode into recovery mode. Your shoulders actually drop. This is not a feeling you are imagining. It is a physiological response.

VANILLA
What it does: Vanillin, vanilla's primary compound, is structurally similar to beta-endorphin your brain's natural comfort molecule. It activates serotonin receptors and the brain's reward circuitry in a way that reads, instinctively, as safe.
The research: A study in Physiology and Behavior found statistically significant anxiety reduction following vanilla aroma exposure. Givaudan fragrance research found vanilla is the only scent to produce a universally positive emotional response across all tested cultures and demographics with no variation.
What this means for you: Vanilla does not simply smell pleasant. It tells your nervous system you are safe. The room feels warmer. The anxiety of the day begins to clear. This is why vanilla feels like coming home it is biological, not personal preference.

Lavender and Vanilla together
Lavender creates the neurological space for calm. Vanilla fills that space with something positive. The combination produces two distinct states simultaneously less anxious and more at ease. Most evenings give you one. Warm Caress gives you both.

Citrus
What it does: Limonene, citrus's primary compound, increases dopamine and serotonin activity within five minutes of inhalation and stimulates norepinephrine the neurotransmitter responsible for focused, directed alertness. Without the anxiety that accompanies caffeine.
The research: A 2017 study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found measurable improvement in both mood and cognitive performance scores following citrus aroma exposure. EEG research showed significant increases in beta wave activity the brain state associated with active, engaged thinking within minutes of citrus inhalation.
What this means for you: Before your first coffee, before your first email citrus has already spoken to your brain. Golden Clarity is the morning signal your nervous system has been waiting for.

Sage
What it does: Cineole and camphor, sage's primary compounds, inhibit acetylcholinesterase the enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine, your memory and attention neurotransmitter. Sage is the only common fragrance compound shown to measurably improve memory and attention scores in peer-reviewed human trials.
The research: Northumbria University research published in Psychopharmacology demonstrated significant improvement in word recall, delayed recall, and spatial memory from inhaled sage aroma. A 2007 study in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology found burning sage reduced airborne bacteria in an enclosed room by 94% within one hour.
What this means for you: Golden Clarity does not simply make you feel more alert. It actively preserves the neurotransmitter your brain uses to think clearly. In a closed Indian home during monsoon, the sage is also cleaning the air you breathe while you work.

Citrus and Sage together
Citrus provides the immediate brightening energy. Sage provides the grounded cognitive depth. Together they create an environment that feels simultaneously energised and stable the mental state of a woman at the height of her focus. Not frantic. Just clear.

Why soy wax makes all of this better
Cleaner delivery. Paraffin wax is a petroleum byproduct. When burned in a closed room, it releases toluene and benzene both classified as probable human carcinogens. Soy wax burns with water vapour and trace carbon dioxide. The fragrance compounds reach you without petrochemical companions in the same air.
Steadier fragrance release. Soy burns approximately 10 degrees cooler than paraffin. The fragrance compounds volatilise slowly and evenly a consistent scent throughout the entire burn rather than a strong opening that fades. Consistent fragrance means consistent neurological effect.
Longer exposure. Soy burns 30 to 50 percent longer than paraffin at the same weight. More hours of beneficial neurological environment for the same price.
Two wicks why it matters. A single wick in a wide jar cannot melt the wax to the edges. The fragrance embedded in the outer wax never releases. Two wicks create a full melt pool edge to edge every gram of fragrance volatilised, maximum neurological delivery, every burn.
Who should exercise caution
Burn in a ventilated room if you have: asthma or sensitive airways, known fragrance allergies, or pets with diagnosed respiratory, liver, or kidney conditions.
Consult your doctor first if: you are pregnant, particularly in the first trimester.
Keep candles out of: nurseries, rooms where infants sleep, and any room where birds are present. Birds' respiratory systems are too sensitive for any volatile compound at any concentration.
Pet safety
Warm Caress- Lavender and Vanilla
The safest of the two Coslign candles for pets. Vanilla has no documented toxicity to cats or dogs at any ambient concentration. Some animal behaviour research suggests it has a mild calming effect on dogs. Lavender at candle concentration in a ventilated room is safe for healthy dogs. For cats, burn in a ventilated space where they can leave if they choose. Cats with liver conditions consult your vet first.
Golden Clarity- Citrus and Sage
Safe for healthy cats and dogs in ventilated rooms. Some cats and dogs show a mild aversion to citrus and will move to another room. This is instinctive preference, not harm. They return when the candle is out.
The universal rule for both candles: Burn in a ventilated room. Let your pet choose whether to stay. Never burn any scented candle near birds.
The bottom line
We did not choose lavender, vanilla, citrus, and sage because they smell nice.
We chose them because linalool, vanillin, limonene, and cineole are four of the most researched bioactive fragrance compounds in neuroscience each with documented, peer-reviewed effects on the human nervous system.
We chose soy wax because the science only works if the delivery system is clean.
We chose two wicks because maximum fragrance release means maximum neurological benefit.
Every decision in Coslign leads back to the same place — the woman in the room, the air she breathes, and the life she is building in it.
Warm Caress- Lavender & Vanilla for the evenings you have earned.
Golden Clarity- Citrus & Sage for the mornings that have to count.
