What you are actually paying for

Soy wax, not paraffin.
Soy-based wax costs significantly more than paraffin at every stage of production. It was chosen because paraffin combustion releases toluene and benzene into the air of an enclosed room. In a small Indian apartment with windows closed during monsoon or winter, this matters. Soy wax burns with water vapour and trace carbon dioxide. We chose the wax that is better for the air you breathe before we chose any other element of the candle.

10% fragrance load.
Most candles in the ₹500–1,500 range carry 6 to 7% fragrance by wax weight. Coslign carries 10%. This is not a headline figure. It is the difference between a scent that is present and a scent that is experienced. The neurological effects of lavender, vanilla, citrus, and sage that we write about on this website require concentration levels above the threshold that 6% fragrance in a single-wick candle produces.

Two cotton wicks.
A wide-diameter jar with one wick cannot produce a complete melt pool. The fragrance compounds embedded in the wax at the edges never fully volatilise. The scent throw is compromised. Tunnelling occurs and wax is wasted. Two wicks solve all of this. They cost more. They are there anyway.

The vessels.
The amber glass jar and the pink frosted glass jar are heavy, reusable vessels designed for a second life after the wax is finished. They are not disposable packaging. They are objects designed to remain on your desk or in your bathroom long after the candle is complete. This costs more than a standard glass container. The decision was made before the first candle was produced.

The extras that are not extras.
A cotton drawstring bag with every order. A fragrance discovery strip of the other candle tucked under the seal sticker, so you experience both rituals before you order your next one. Complete ingredient transparency with CAS numbers published, because you deserve to know exactly what you are burning in your home. The 40 to 50 hours.
At ₹2,499 for 50 hours of burn time, Coslign costs ₹50 per hour. Per-hour context: one café chai costs ₹80 for 10 minutes. One yoga class costs ₹400 for 60 minutes. One multiplex movie cost ₹300 for 120 minutes. Coslign costs ₹50 for 60 minutes of a neurologically active, clean-burning, soy-wax-delivered fragrance environment in the home where you spend more time than anywhere else in your life.
